A VG- version on Tiny has just sold on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401078668768?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Seller very honest about the marks/pops and listening to the sound file, I thought this isn't worth going for. Watching it over the last week, I couldn't believe it when it started to break in to the $100's, but it's eventually gone for $607. According to popsike a mint condition one went for $1000 in January - seems value for money now. What could I expect to pay now for a VG+ minimum? Which one would I pay more for, Tiny/Rouser?

Is anything known about Tiny Records?

Perhaps it was the group or their manager's own label and was used to get a record out on this band that had been paying it's dues backing major artists up (on shows all along the US east coast) for many years before their 45 escaped. Certainly nothing else was released on Tiny and this outing was soon licensed for release on DC based Rouser (Tiny also being based out of DC).

Lots of the live work the band did was up in Baltimore or across on Carr's Beach. They backed up just about every act that played the DC, Baltimore, Annapolis area over the years they were active. Example of this are two 1963 shows (when they were 18 strong) in Baltimore (Lou Johnson's "Reach Out For Me" can't have been that popular in Baltimore in mid Oct 63 as his billing on that show is a bit low key) .......

Rouser version

and the tiny version

you can certainly hear the difference and I know which one I'd prefer to have but I'd hate to think what a mint Tiny would sell for

I notice Dave that on one of the youtube clips that it's yours on Tiny and we agree on which one is best

Thanks for all of the information, very helpful

Its the Rouser version I first heard turn of the century via Capitol Soul Club rotation, so I guess thats why it will always be the Rouser version for me. Got mine via Manship some fifteen years ago at what seems now a bargain..

There are two different issues of this one on Rouser right? One titled chick chick and one titled ain't no bragg... I've never seen the bragg version myself. Gotta be the rarest issue...

you can see why Tommy cut the 18/19 seconds of some geezer shouting chick chick chick etc at the start as it repeats enough through the rest of the record !!

Deffo the Rouser release for me and the one iv'e just sold

I'm pretty sure it was Mace playing the Tiny version at last years Go Go Children all-nighter while speaking into the mic, "chick chick chick n chick chick..." and leading into the record, seamless and absolutely brilliant - probably where my love of the record started. And I'm not a great fan of doing the Steve Wright and his serious jockin (without the G - I know enough said...) talking over records.

I just missed out on the Rouser version the other night on eBay . I was really hoping that nobody saw it (as you do) and I was the only bidder until 10 seconds off and beaten by a tenner. I had a snipe set as well but got the Goofbid message that eBay disallowed it as a potential automated bid. Gutted to say the least.

I looked in my John Manship book the other day at the prices and it has seriously gone up, so will leave it a while before putting out a want (he writes hoping to get a PM)...
