Guest Paul Franklin Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hi - Anyone got a photo of Soul Joe Clements please? - the same guy who sung Ever, Ever on Plexium. Is he still alive in Knutsford? Cheers Paul
Guest Paul Franklin Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Chalky believes Keith Minshull went round his house once in Knutsford but this is from an old post we believe
Dobber Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 i first heard this tune at hyde botanical club late 80's,i had it on a tape and loved the tune, however i hadnt heard it in donkeys years, and i played it on youtube not so long ago,and i couldnt sit through the full song,i do wonder how certain tunes "ever ever"make it onto the northern scene...sorry! bloody rare 45 though!
John A Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Brilliant record. YouTube clips never do the music justice and don't compare to spinning the actual disc. I love it anyway
Guest Paul Franklin Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 F**K a duck Ivor mate - that's you what you talking about haha
Guest Paul Franklin Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 The latest update from the DJ that made it big at the time Mr Hennigan is that he is Joseph McClements last known residing in London - any updates on that or the prized press photo from the period? The 'do I like the record or not conversation' has happened already on FB.
Dobber Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 i vaguely remember someone claiming he owned an hairdressing/barber shop,or maybe he is an hairdresser?
Popular Post Derek Evans Posted December 30, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) Soul Joe Clements came from 'Frodsham' Cheshire, The groups original name was the S.O.S band (Sounds of Style) it was only changed to 'Soul Joe Clements' for this record, unfortunatley the band broke up sometime later due to half the band wanting to turn pro the other half wanted to stay at college. This is indeed a rare record as it is the only one that they made. My brother was rhythm guitarist with them. I have pictures of this group and a news paper cutting about making the record The lead singer in the band was my brother Phil Evans but Kenny King also sang, unfortunatley Kenny died several years ago, I will check with Phil to see who sang on this track, he lives in brussels now and is away for christmas and can't contact him. I will post these in five days time when my full membership is accepted. Edited December 31, 2021 by Derek Evans To add missing word 8
Mod Life Crisis Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Love this info - thank you so much for sharing this. Personally, I love this record and had to wait many years to get my hands on it. One that will only be sold if starvation is the other option. 1
Soul-slider Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 That is fantastic! If it's OK Derek I've put your info on 45cat and a link to this thread. Hope that's fine, if not please let me know and I will delete it. Here's the link to the post https://www.45cat.com/record/pxm10&rc=1152591#1152591
Pete S Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 This is brilliant information, I played this last week on my mixcloud show and asked if anyone ever found out who it was, not knowing this information was here
