Lorraine Silver Demo on Ebay - how much????

At the time of posting this, there's four days to go and it's already at £181.79.  Lovely white demo - but what do you think the finishing price will be?

This must be the first demo I've seen of this since I saw Mick Smith playing his copy during a warm-up spot at the 100 Club over 30 years ago!

Yep - as much as a Marmite record as it is, and rather old hat, it's still a key record and a nice rare UK demo as well.  I think it will go to a UK collector.

And you are paying a lot of money for a record that you wouldn't dare play out at most of todays venues. So what are you going to do with it keep it in a box at home?

Yep - that's what I've been doing with most of my collection for the past 40 years.  I largely collect records to love and enjoy in the pleasure of my home, and not to swing my dick about.

Fabulous record in my opinion. But I was there at the Casino when it was played. Always have a place in my heart. For a very special if not this most special time of my life. 

It was played at Willington on  Saturday night to a good response.

Not far off Peter.  13 actually.  Born in 1952, and released "Lost Summer Love" in August 1965.

Sunnysoul's post of the original version of Lost Summer Love by Shelley Fabares reminded me that the A and B sides of the Lorraine Silver are both cover versions of the A and B sides of the Shelley Fabares single release on Vee-Jay (Lost Summer Love / I Know You'll Be There).

 I danced many times to this pile of whale droppings but I agree that it was so right at the time and an important time it was too. Even listening to it now 40 odd years later it takes me right back there. :thumbsup:

To be honest it sounded feckin awesome coming out of the casino speakers, funny how mediocre records tended to sound great coming out of wigans sound system, always remember standing outside and queuing up to get in and hearing interplay pounding out of the main doors fantastic until it got the uk release and playing it on my record player at home it sounded shite lol
