jam66 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 There was the Andantes in Detroit and the Blossoms in LA, just wondered if there was a group of female 'go to' backing singers for Cameo, Arctic etc. I have these names for Camep Parkway but they may have been on the more pop side. Suzy Contreras, Dawn Hopkins, and Linda Barton. Although they backed Chubby Checker sometimes (I think), just wondered if there were any more stalwarts mainly from the very early to mid '60's. Thanks in advance Dave.
Roburt Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) There was a selection of 'go to' female backing singers for much of the studio work in Philly but I'm away from home at present and can't recall their names. Were they perhaps known by the collective name of the 'sweethearts of soul' ?? I think they were mostly active in the late 60's / 70's though. Someone on here will know the full details to answer your question. Edited February 10, 2016 by Roburt 1

nrc Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Sweethearts of Sigma did most of the backup for Sigma Studios in Philly, but mostly from the early seventies onwards. 2
