I've never done it myself but do you end up with negative feedback ? I mean if you ended up the high bidder and then refused to pay up on the grounds that it was a counterfeit item, surely you would not get penalised would you ? Obviously, if he's got multiple copies of these boots then he's gonna offer these to the next highest bidders and you cant really stop that happening I think, however, if the Auction winners kept refusing to honour the winning bids on grounds of the items being counterfeit then surely, ebay would have to acknowledge what is happening here wouldnt they ? Just a thought on making things difficult for the crooks……. I did in fact think of doing that today, so protecting some poor bugger ending up with a very expensive boot. However I think you would end up with one of those unpaid item strikes or whatever they call them. But I am sure there must be a way of getting it removed if you could prove it was a counterfeit/boot etc. Trouble is if you are unable to do so then you could be open to some sellers blocking you from their auctions. Several years ago there was a guy in Indiana ripping people of on a regular basis and not coming through with the goods. He ripped me for $60, then like a prat I bid on another of his items not looking who the seller was, when I realized it was to late. However I decided not to take the chance again and did not pay up. You can guess what happened, I ended up with one of those strikes or whatever they call them!. But this could be the only way Ivor. Andy

Liljimmycrank Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 He claims it to be an original when I asked if it was a bootleg or original. we know it's a boot, but shows he's selling to deceive. I have asked for the matrix numbers, and if he replies, will ask him about his second copy. 1

Guest Soulinstitution Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Guys, I am indeed the Ebay Seller related to this thread. I have been advised by ROD to explain circumstances here. 3 Records listed on my Ebay account (including the Earl White Jr) were indeed counterfeits and have been removed now. I had listed those for an acquaintance of mine who s into soul records since years (but with no ebay account). He offered me a cash commission on final prices which I unfortunately accepted (considering the high potential of the records). Obviously I should have been more vigilant since I initially considered them as originals. I was actually only provided with records pictures to be listed on the Bay ( but not the records). Getting ROD’s alert made me end up the listing which removed the incriminated records from my Auction listing. I guarantee all remaining records are 100% originals (including the C. Checker). My ebay score( 100%) speaks for me , so be sure I have never been into scamming / stealing actions. I guarantee none of this guy’s records will ever turn up again on my Ebay Account (no matter what I am offered in exchange). I must admit I have part of responsibility but the forum action was effective here. @MillionTear Soul : Kindly avoid mixing up people ‘s name, identity and location as I have NOTHING to do with the scam you are refering to. Kindly PM me if you need any clarification as I ‘d like to avoid the thread turning into a flow of personal & unjustified attacks. Thank you for your understanding and appologies about the mess. Cheers
Guest JohanT Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Why do you list the items as being from Osaka, Japan, if you are based in Paris?

Guest Soulinstitution Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Kjw, I know it would help but with all the respect I won't be able to disclose any private ID here. I believe the forum people are now aware about these 3 records gonna (sooner or later) turn up elsewhere and sure they will watch out . Hoping unaware potential buyers having doubt about these records being genuine would google search and find out the soul source thread. Cheers

Cheers Fair play to you, Soulinstitution, for coming on here and giving your side of the story. While I wouldn't expect you to disclose in public who had passed these counterfeits to you to sell, there will still be doubt in the minds of people whether this is actually what happened. The fact is, as far as we can see, at least one bootleg of Innersection was sold for a lot of money by you. That is a valid criticism. Also, that whole" Osaka/Japan listing but actually in France " thing is also well moody. What are people supposed to make of that ? You have to admit, to an observer, it looks very suspicious and looks just like it was meant to throw people off the scent. While its true that you dont have to justify anything to people on here, I would have thought the idea is attempting to clear your name of wrongdoing isn't it ? Surely, if you want to be taken seriously these are valid criticisms you should be attempting to address. You've probably been taken back by the reaction on this forum, but, unfortunately for you, the timing of your bootleg listings couldn't have been worse, coming as it did, hot on the heels of a massive row on this forum concerning a recent batch of high profile counterfeits, some of which have been sold as originals and which seemingly have upset many . A sorry tale for all concerned.

Cheers Just looked at some of your previous sales posts on here & see you have listed things for sale like Motherfox, Mind & Matter, Nightchill, Veda etc. Not doubting for one minute that these were anything other than 100% genuine but as a collector of this sort of stuff I find it very hard to believe that you failed to recognise a poor counterfeit copy of things like Al (Alonzo) Wilson, Earl White Jr, Innersection etc. I sure as hell would have spotted them a from country mile away. This might also explain why you failed to answer my question on ebay regarding the authenticity of the Al (Alonzo) Wilson. 2

Popular Post Modernsoulsucks Posted February 10, 2016 Popular Post Posted February 10, 2016 Letting members know that the site is taking no further action on this matter at this time. His explanation is here for all to see and members can come to their own conclusions as to future sales, either on EBay or here. I do have a character reference of sorts from Butch who has allowed me to post it up. Ive done a few trades with him in the past and he always seemed honest and straightforward. I know he sometimes lives in Osaka, Japan and then moves to France for a few months of the year. I've had no evidence to link him with Mehdi Dizerens other than the original MR. SOUL auction under same user name as this auction but he has denied any part in that scam. Obviously if I get any more relevant information in I will look at this again. Or if his name is linked with sales of boots as originals in the future. Advised him to answer Swifty's question regarding a refund on the completed sale of Innersection for $700. It would also be illuminating to know how MR. SOUL appeared on an auction under his name. ROD 4
Popular Post Raresoul45s Posted February 11, 2016 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Below is proof and evidence (if needed) this man behind ebay seller id Soul-institution is the same conman who cheated me out of £1400 in 2010 and is now having us believe he was duped into selling EARL WHITE JR & INNERSECTION BOOTS for a friend unknowingly. This would be implausible in isolation but with this guys pedigree it simply total BS. This character attempts to add some credibility to his appearance & profile’s by buying and selling a few 45s without any issues before he goes in for the big sting, its typical of this sort of criminal, by creating a certain amount of legitimacy they add some reasonable doubt into any scenario they might get pulled up on. This is born out by him previously buying a few 45s off me, which is why I posted him the Mr Soul 45 in the first place back in 2010. Heres the link to that thread from 2010 although the facts in the main are set out below https://www.soul-source.co.uk/forums/topic/147537-been-done-for-%C2%A31400-named-and-shamed/ Below is a timeline of my dealings with him over the years which leaves no ambiguity or uncertainty regarding the man’s unscrupulous behaviour. Timeline Fouad Maidi AKA Mehdi Dizerens – DON’T BE FOOLED THEY’RE THE SAME PERSON He bought Mr Soul On Genuine from me In May 2010 For £1400 Heres the image of the actual 45 he deceptively acquired from me – note a white speck on the scan at 9 o’clock (it is tiny) and a grey speck in the white centre hole. June 2010 – I get a £1400 reversal from Credit Card Company – I call them - they say unauthorised transaction and nothing we can do as we can’t release information about our client. He now has money back and the Mr Soul 45. I email him on his soulrare@gmail.com address and after asking him whats going on he says I’ll pay again, I was surprised but he does make the payment again. My conclusion of the issue was it was just a bit of a misunderstanding with him and his card company, how wrong could I have been. July 2010 – 2nd payment gets reversed - I call card processing company again (yes you guessed it) unauthorised transaction nothing we can do. This was a different card issuer this time from the first so a very clever ploy on his part. Late July 2010 – I contact him again many times asking him to return the 45, he then tells me to stop bugging him and F*ck off or he and his mates will come over and sort me out. At this point I go down the legal road and I’m advised its not worth perusing (costs incurred would of run into thousands) and I agreed no point throwing more money away, best to just name and shame him as I did in the previous thread in 2010 and put it behind me. 12th November 2010 I post the name and shame thread 19th Novemeber 2010 – Well known collector Richard Lewis (honky on here) see’s my post and informs me he bought Mr Soul of Ebay from a seller with username soul-institution and surprise surprise it never turned up. See popsike image below for that sale from 17th June 2010 – check out speck at 9 oclock and speck in centre hole, it is one and the same identical to the copy ABOVE that I have in my rare soul archive. Richard and I both had identical email addresses for this guy, mine obtained from his fraudulent purchase and communications and Richard from the Ebay purchase that never arrived. Below is the copy Richard bought off Ebay (mine) Heres a link to the popsike page - check out the description text it becomes relevant in March 2012 - link here to listing https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php?itemnr=320546541139 Here is an email I received from Richard 19/11/2010 Date : 19/11/2010 - 02:20 (GMTST) To : raresoul45s@btinternet.comSubject : Fouad Maidi pdfs Hi Darren - It's "honky" from soul-source, with the PDFs I promised you regarding my run-in with Mr. Fouad Maidi when he stiffed me when I tried to buy the Mr. Soul on Genuine 45 from him earlier this year on eBay. In the .zip file are 3 PDFs: 1) mr_soul_email.pdf - This is the email I got from eBay when I won the auction...it has his (presumably fake) address in Japan listed. 2) maidi_paypal.pdf - When I went back through my email, I realized that he forwarded me the email he got from Paypal indicating that I had paid. You can see much of the chain of communication, including his last email where he asks to verify my mailing address (which is incorrect, and clearly doesn't match my email in the PayPal message). 3) ebay_case.pdf - This is the screen shot of the resolved case I opened with eBay in which they very kindly gave me a refund on the transaction. If you need me to call eBay to authorize the release of any information on this issue beyond these emails, let me know... Hopefully all of this will be helpful!! - Richard So Richard never got the record but did get a paypal refund, Fouad Maidi AKA Mehdi Dizerens was now up $1877 and a copy of Mr Soul – doing rather well at this point. By now, late Novemebr 2010 I had been dealing with this for 5 months and it was a very taxing so I decided to drop it, I’d named him, it was out there and it had worked so I forgot about it and carried on business as usual. Until March 2012 this appeared on ebay and guess who was selling it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mr-Soul-What-Happened-To-Yesterday-Monster-Soul-Original-45-/320854801458?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=As1625JB%252BbisVwRUms6qwuXEnbY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Yes Mr Fouad Maidi AKA Mehdi Dizerens – soul-institution I don’t think this needs to go to Jury but I’ll just spell it out one more time below He fraudulently got the record off me summer 2010 Fouad Maidi – Soul-institution He sells it to Honky June 2010 - Via Soul-institution It gets lost in the post summer 2010 - Via Soul-institution Miraculously by March 2012 he’s selling the same copy on ebay again - Via Soul-institution March 2012 Ebay pull the 45 from Soul-institution – Take a look at the text again on the 2012 listing, identical word for word to the one that got lost in the post on its way to Richard, now theres a coincidence. Feb 2016 Soul-institution wants us to believe the load of BS about Earl Wright Jr & Innersection although I notice hes not answered any of the pointed questions asked by other members. So there it is – all 100% factual and supported with evidence mainly supplied by the idiot himself. Finally I would like to say to Fouad Maidi or Mehdi Dizerens (I guess its Fouad Maidi) whatever your name is, I hope you enjoyed the money and it represented good value for your integrity, honour and reputation however I have a feeling I overpayed. Amsterdam Russ Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Sniffing around out of curiosity, as one can't help but do from time to time, I came across this on the eBay profile of soul-institution. So whoever this person is, according to eBay it appears that they began using the name soul-institution from the 3rd of March 2012. That's well after 2010 dates quoted earlier. Indeed, for 10 years prior, this user went by the name of algmusic. You can see this for yourself here: https://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReturnUserIdHistory&requested=soul-institution I'm not making any judgement here and nor am I drawing any conclusions. I just think it's something that ought to see the light of day. Others can turn their hand to being detective.
