Guest trickbag Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Solomon King — This Beautiful Day / Say a Prayer — Uk Columbia demo Vinyl in Ex+ condition , No centre, WOL on Say a prayer side £ 95 Posted 6 Jan 2015 (edited) · Report post ricky.
Sheep Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Sold a nm stock copy on here for 80 . N/c most uk collectors would not buy it. 40/50 tops. Rarest format, levi jackson stocker.
Northern Soul Uk Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 Strange innit 'Sheep'? how just a change of name can make a difference? It's the same person anyway, and I've seen more Levi Jackson Demos, than Solomon King ones.

HI ALL, Over the years I have had all 4 versions the original demo Solomon King had 75 pressed compared to the 100 Levi Jackson demo. the ales of the issues were poor, but Levi probably sold under 10 copies all others were classed a returns. 1
Speedlimit Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 so what would a mint copy of the Solomon king album go for ????
Northern Soul Uk Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Thanks for that info dthdrug, I didn't know that. Speedlimit, I sold a copy of the album for £20 a few months back. Oh and the Solomon Demo is up to £150 with 4 days to go on eBay by the way.
Sheep Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Cant remember exactly when i sold one for £80, it was in 2015, if you search under sales, you will find. Yes, same bloke, SK being on the B side, LJ on the A side, the levi Jackson has a stronger production. As noted earlier the LJ stock copy is probably harder than the others. Beautiful day was a B side and not usual for SK, hence why it was changed to LJ and isssued as an A side, due to the plays in the clubs at the time. Edited January 31, 2016 by sheep
Northern Soul Uk Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Yes it was a marketing ploy to change the name to make it more 'Street'. As said before I have seen many LJ demos, but hardly any SK ones. and I don't think I have ever seen a LJ stock copy, but have seen and owned 3 SK stock copies. As posted twice on here, the one I have at the moment, not the Demo I am selling, but the stock copy of SK, has different run out etchings to any others catalogued, and no one on 'SS' knew why this was. That is the reason I am keeping my SK stock copy and selling the demo as I think the unusual stock copy that I have has to be rarer, even though I don't know why it has different markings. Also the 'A' side of the one I have is titled 'Say a prayer for me', not 'Say a prayer' as are the other SK stock copies. Figure that one out :-) I've attached the images if you fancy doing a bit of research Edited January 31, 2016 by Northern Soul UK
