Sjclement Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Love the Spinners original I'll Be Around, and was preparing to splash out on the Doug Parkinson version, when I noticed that whilst the Spinners version is credited to Tom Bell and Phil Hurtt as writers the Aussie version is credited to Chuck Jackson & Marvin Yancy, Doug's version was top 40 in Australia so is there some contractural reason? or just a huge mistake?
Popular Post Sunnysoul Posted January 18, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2016 Southern Star Records, the label on which Doug Parkinson's version was released, somehow confused the composers of the Spinner's tune with a tune of the exact same title written by Chuck Jackson and Marvin Yancey and recorded by the group Midwest Franchise on MCA Records. 4
