Andybellwood Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) by way of contrast .... Lemon 'let's go bikini' Made its debut for me at Whitby , then a spin in France - great reaction . https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_g3fee6nQPU Edited August 25, 2016 by andybellwood 1
Mick Sway Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Sounding very darkly Detroit to my ears, flip the effervescent Try A lttle Harder for the Fi-Dels Bob Refl composition You Never Do Right (My Baby), Keymen/Jay Boy UK. I didn't realise that some of these Jay Boy's have become quite expensive - after 40 years I still find it hard to take the label seriously, though all credit to President for knocking the tunes out. 1

One that often gets overlooked (B side of "Candy") I totally agree, I played this at Walsall record fair to Mick Smith & Roy Gelder (top UK Collector) 15 years ago & asked them to name the 45 no problem for Mick but Roy was like a double take brother with it, I bet that you play it at most soul nights & only a very small number will get it right. great group great Soul. NICEONE. 2

Agreed mate i got mine about 5 years ago and its deffo one i would not part with. Its also availlable as David Morris on the Radnor label, exactly same tune so its not too hard to find at least one of the two releases. 1
Mick Sway Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Been taking an interest in UK Jay Boy releases of late. Found this one interesting as I can't see any reference to a US release. As I understand it was recorded in UK, possibly the same group who were also touring UK clubs under various group banners during the late 60's. I believe that it's one of the rarer releases on the label. Quite a few threads on here about Jay Boy, here's one if anyone's interested: The Invitations Picking Up Jay Boy records: 2
