a rushed pass on

had someone ask me if could request any info on

Ural Thomas who recorded on "Uni"

I believe his real name was Ural Thompson. Born in Portland Oregan, Ural Thomas had two 45's on UNI (that I'm aware of) UNI 55003 "Can You Dig It / I'm A Whole New Thing" and UNI 55017 "Pain Is The Name Of Your Game / Since You went Away" in 1967.

Both can be picked up for around a tenner.

Thomas also recorded a big money record, "Deep Soul " with Ron Buford and a 45 on Camelot (might be one and the same).

He is 'supposed' to have had an LP, but I don't know for sure. Never seen one.

In the 70's he was a backing singer with Wilson Pickett and still performs live in Portland and Seattle at various Blues festivals and with the Wheedles Groove crew (of Patrinell Staten fame).
