Millo Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) I am looking for a discography for the Modern Record label. Globaldogproductions, my usual source for discographies, only goes up to 1027. There seem to be some duplicate numbers, 1005 is used twice for instance. Edited December 20, 2015 by Millo
Robbk Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) Yes, the OLD Modern series from 1945-1958 started in the early 500s and ran up to 1027 or so. The new series, started in 1964, and ran from 1001 to the1070s(?). From 1959 through 1963 most of their artists were shifted over to Kent Records. The same thing happend when the new Modern label was shut down. Kent ran for several more years. I haven't seen a better discography than Global Dog's, unless "Stack-O-Wax" is still operating. Maybe "Disco-File"? I've seen a few, but don't contribute anymore, so I don't have recent discographies. I suppose we could put together a discography of the NEW Modern label from contibutions of Soul-Source members. Edited December 21, 2015 by RobbK

Ady Croasdell Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 In addition to the three ones already added to Dave's list: 1013 The Composers With Friends Like You Who Needs Friends/Just Call On Me 1017 Sterling Blyth Only 17/Twilight Zone 1038 Big Jay McNeely Sock It To Me/Without A Love 1047 Charlie Owens There Goes My Heart (Crying For Love)/All My Life 1051 Al King Without A Warning/Get Lost I think they all exist, I reckon I've seen them at some time or another.
