Kegsy Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Any clues here ? https://oldwax.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/goin-on-baby.html or here https://www.classicbands.com/DupreesTomBialoglowInterview.html
Gold Band Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) Well it seems that the Utopias, Elgians, Parisians & the later the Duprees all recorded at the Hertz Studios But who has the ears to match any of these to the acetate if it is one of these? Sammy Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 The links above are all to my acetate. The tune can be heard in full in this mix https://www.mixcloud.com/samuelhugosson/dont-tease-me-northern-soul-and-crossover-soul/. I've tried to clean the sound a bit since I made the original snippet. The original acetate is kind of crackly and it don't get any better with my attempts to clean it. When I bought it I had a conversation with the seller who told me that the acetate came from a guy who tried to get this group from Newark signed. The guy he got it from did not remember what the group was and he didn't seem to care either apparently. The seller had no contact info to this guy either so that's sort of a dead end... This is the other side of the acetate a slow sweet number. Soundfile from my soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/trombone-sammy/unknown-tune-sweet-soul-short I'd be most interested to know what the name of the group may be...
