Sammy Seaman Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) hi got a copy of this on mirwood vinyl with moulded label on a blue issue I thought it was only on styrene ! is it a boot ? I thought it was only booted on white demo any help please Edited December 5, 2015 by sammy seaman
Pga1 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Def no expert on this subject but during 7ts loads of mirwood stuff seemed ready available, some were probably re pressed. Things like 'oh my darling' etc due to demand, trouble is we're talking over 40 odd years ago and stuff gets mixed in. Let's just say there seems to be quite a lot of white demos about these days. Keep your blue one. Did it have a uk issue on jay boy ? Cheers
Pga1 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 or even that sneaky 'soul fox label' although I've heard they are now in demand. Look for vardy- Mahrez in the title credits cheers
Raresoul45s Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Yes booted on blue issue as well, nearly always sold as an original. Here's one on my site at the moment, more details on the link. https://www.raresoul45s.co.uk/shop/reissues/bobby-garrett?product_id=1092&category_id=3 cheers Darren

No, it's deep blue and yes, the vinyl issue of Bobby Garrett's 'I can't get away' is a bootleg. It's even low-fi when you play it. It just looks better than it sounds. When you play it you understand that something is wrong... Edited December 6, 2015 by tlscapital

Jackie Lee "Oh My Darling" is a perfect example, no styrene original of this! Sheppards, Richard Temple, Jimmy Conwell to name a few others.

The low-fi / bass heavy sound is the only thing that alerted me to the fact that it was a bootleg. Bizarrely the white vinyl demo sounds even worse with far too much treble in the mix. Maybe they copied the vinyl issue bootleg and increased the treble to compensate. Dave Edited December 9, 2015 by Only Dreaming 1
