Greg Belson Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Thanks everyone for your patience with getting the archive up and running....had some technical difficulties for this show, so apologies for the over cranked mic volume....hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment too much. Here's the 53rd installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com. https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/divine-chord-gospel-show-pt-53/ This month, we start proceedings with a killer funk track that straddles the gospel boundaries, by the magnificent Mike James Kirkland. Then we bounce around from massive rarities like the Jackson Brothers acetate, before visiting the ever reliable Designer label. Then we round off the set with some offerings from the 70's. The 2nd section features another cut from the amazing Sensational Saints LP as well as a killer rare 45 from the soulful Dayco label....proto hiphop rhythms from The Southern Gospel Singers. For pt. 3, it's modern soul dancefloor territory...tracks destined to be a future club sound, possibly. Check out the monster from Rance Allen as well as the amazing ender from Shirley Finney. *NB apologies for the audio quality her. Some slight technical difficulties in the studio which will be sorted for the next show* Feel free to join our facebook group! Thanks!
Djmelismo Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Inspirational and electrifying! Always enjoy your selections Greg. Both the really old items and the ones in modern style. Best, Mats
