Remember it well. An excellent take on the Casino at the time. Picked up a copy a few months ago on eBay - it was a joy to read. The Times was, and still is, the best paper on a Sunday bar none so it treated the topic with the reverence it deserved unlike contemporary commentators on the scene who peddle the freak-show/Frank Wilson/mad collectors/dance on the hands stuff that just doesn't wash with long term devotees.

Turned up for school one Monday morning and a lad said to me "you're into that northern soul stuff aren't you? This was in yesterdays paper"

He gave me the article which I still have, the large photo of which was used in the book to accompany Northern Soul the film...:)

Was it the week before or maybe after that a similar feature was published about the Canvey island 1940s/swing  'revival' or is that a shot away brain cells recall ?

while on the ask

has any scans of 'The Suns' double page feature on Wigan surfaced yet ?

Memory  says it featured large page size cutout of Sandy and Neil (yep?) on each page, can't remember the rest apart from it was what you would expect
