Ficklefingers Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) A big THANK YOU to the post originator for the favour you have inadvertently bestowed upon my ageing ears..I can't believe I have never before heard, or somehow come across this 45 previously - possibly due to my historically prioritising 6T's tunes over 70's recordings. But what a fantastic slab of Soul THAT is !!If, as indicated, it was a big Mecca spin then surely it is ripe for some current turntable action? I would defo be giving that some regular deck time were I in that position - and will now be quietly looking for a copy (at a bargain price, of course.. ) Edited October 6, 2015 by FickleFingers 1

Ficklefingers Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Does get a few spins these days, especially down south at Crossfire and 100 Club all-nighters.Well, there ya go then !! That just goes to confirm two things..1) My sentiments as to the 45 being deserved of turntable exposure at today's venues - the fact the 100 Club gives it deck time being a huge accolade in itself !!2) Obviously.. I don't get out anywhere near enough.. And.. I'll STILL take a sensibly priced (Fingers definition) copy 1
Tricky Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 T,other side is a mighty fine slab of Soul music too. Tricky 3
Guest son of stan Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Why do folk go on about records they want to get on here before they have got hold of a copy? Only bumps up the price next time anyone who wants to sell one Googles it. And we all moan about prices going up? SMH...
Diddy Morgan Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 T,other side is a mighty fine slab of Soul music too. Tricky agreed ,my mother said is brilliant!!!
Tricky Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Think the cue burn / hiss must be because of mis used copies.Cant look now but i dont remember mine hissing. Also i just played a few on You Pube and they seem ok. Tricky
Sjclement Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I bought my first copy from Soul Bowl in the mid 70s for two pounds it jumped in the middle passages but this was solved with a 2p coin on the headshell of my Garrard decks playing arm,(didn't understand then what a fickle material styrene was back then), picked another mint copy up about 3 years ago for £90 and this plays very well on my Technics deck, I won't be putting any 'pennies' on this one.Sits alongside those other 70s Femme Favourites, Margo Thunder, Jodi Mathis Loleatta Holloway Eloise Laws etc. 1
