Guest Netspeaky Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Just found William DeVaughan's version of "I've Never Found A Girl in one of my throw away boxes, as I couldn't remember it, I gave it a spin, it knock me off my feet what a great version, I can't understand why I had missed it previously. Your thoughts?

Bigsoulman Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted this up awhile ago, nobody liked it Must have missed that one Kenny or I would have given it 10/10, cracking underplayed record "is it cos i's cheap" written all over it Lenny
Guest Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Must have missed that one Kenny or I would have given it 10/10, cracking underplayed record "is it cos i's cheap" written all over it Lenny Took thw words out of my mouth. It's sheer quality but maybe it's too cheap a record for some people! Sometimes it seems that unless it's a £100+ 45 noone is interested
Guest Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I don't think its on the Tec 45 just the EMI one.... is it? I don't think it's on the Tec 45 just the EMI 7" and 12" ...is it? Oh hang on, I said that.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 (edited) Must have missed that one Kenny or I would have given it 10/10, cracking underplayed record "is it cos i's cheap" written all over it Lenny Al Green's version suffers from the same availability 'problem' - you can pick it up on UK London (wasn't on a US Hi 45) all over the place, for a fiver or thereabouts, and it p*sses all over most records that cost ten times that amount... ...also love the Mad Lads version on their "Mad, Mad, Mad, Madl Lads" album and, of course, nobody beats Eddie Floyd's Stax original (another record that, for many years, suffered from 'Commonitis'....) Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 What is this? 'Commonitis' = a surfeit of copies of a really great record that would cost a fortune everywhere, if only a handful had ever turned up. It's not in any dictionary, but it ought to be IMO TONE
