Guest Stuart T Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 (edited) Someone can have my UK Mint Columbia issue for £20 in that case.............bargain! Can I have it for free if I promise to chuck it in the Thames? Someone who shouldn't have been allowed behind the decks is alleged to have played out an instrumental of this one time. Oh dear. Oh dear. It's yours Stuart! You sure you're not confusing this track with "Glad All Over" by the Leon Young Strings?
Guest Stuart T Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 It's yours Stuart! You sure you're not confusing this track with "Glad All Over" by the Leon Young Strings? I should imagine that would be even worse. I was told BandPs but at the end of the day its all too horrible to contemplate. How come you know about this stuff?
Guest Netspeaky Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Leon Young Strings "Glad All Over" played in the Casino, Dave Clark Five wasn't.
Guest Stuart T Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Leon Young Strings "Glad All Over" played in the Casino, Dave Clark Five wasn't. No, wasn't referring to that, this was a recent aberration of taste, probably B&Ps. Is that Glad All Over the same as DC5 then? How appalling.

Martint Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I remember somebody rather (in)famously playing this at Brighton one alldayer several years ago - STOMPER!!!
Paul McKay Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Yeah you're right there Martin. I seem to recall "Baby come back" came into the equation as well!
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Stuart, Strings is instrumental version, and yes it's awful. Kitsch - Yes. Camp even - maybe. A bit of a giggle - almost certainly... ...But Leon Young awful? Nah, not having that, sorry! The occasional exhibition of bad taste never did anyone any harm... TONE

Like a lot of tunes from the early days , it now sounds dated , and yes - camp / kitsch ; but whatever your views folks , it has a place in the soundtrack to the scene . Malc
