Mal C Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Recently won a record by a singer called Portia Ogbu, the track entitled 'Now It's Gone' on Copeland Davis's Regalia label. I was told by the seller that Portia Ogbu was in fact Copeland's girlfriend or partner, and having looked a bit online I can find nothing on her bar a mention in the Boca Ratan News circa 1972. Seems she might have been an actress and singer, the article highlights her as a standout in a play that 'lacks cohesion'. Good stuff...anyhow Ive got all excited about this new 45 of mine and the 'Nigerian'? sounding Portia Ogbu. Can anybody confirm the singer and actress are one of the same, and does anybody know anything else about her, know if she cut some more sides with Copeland Davis?https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1291&dat=19720820&id=XfZTAAAAIBAJ&sjid=Bo0DAAAAIBAJ&pg=5820,4652668&hl=enKind regards,Malcolm Here's a scan of the 45...sorry no sound file, and it isn't on You tube..
