Kidinquisitive Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 So many great records on this month's list! Tons of rare soul from right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I can say without a doubt that this is the deepest selection of 45's I've offered yet. Take some time to check these out, virtually all records listed have MP3 soundclips (if anyone has trouble playing them don't hesitate to contact me and I'll figure out the problem). Also, I will be glad to email label photos of any 45s that aren't pictured here (the message board limits how many photos can be posted). See the bottom of the listing for info on grading, shipping, payment, etc. The Apollos/Waymond Hall - Soul Funk-Tion b/w What Will Tomorrow Bring, OFFERS Jamal 1005, vinyl looks VG with many light storage marks from being outside a sleeve. Plays more like VG++ with just some slight background noise on the intro to the Waymond Hall side. Apollos side plays pretty much perfect. Labels have writing and some discoloration. Absolutely top-notch funk 45 out of Stockton, CA that surprisingly (given the high quality of the music) seems to be virtually unknown . The Apollos side is a killer uptempo instro with a nasty flute solo and horn section while the flip adds an incredible and soulful vocal by Hall overtop a slightly more downtempo version of the same basic song. Not positive but I think this may be the same group that did the song "Peace Still Is With Us". Serious offers only please. Listen: https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...FA12C0309968577 Emulations - These Are The Things b/w Your Good Thing Emulate 101, VG+ (light marks, plays nicely with slight surface noise in spots), $125 Without a doubt one of the crown jewels of Bay Area sweet soul. The little-heard flip is a cool funky group soul tune. Listen: https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...19EF62415CE8093 Sisters From The Ghetto - What Made You Change Your Time b/w Somebody Emulate 102, VG+ (fair amount of light marks that don't really affect play), $75 Rare Bay Area female group soul on the awesome Emulate label. Listen: https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...5BEC89D490D401F The Cre-Shendos - This Must Be Love b/w You're Still On My Side, $60 Aquarius Records 822, VG- (pretty noticeable surface scuffs but none are feelable or have a major effect on play. Record plays surprisingly well), labels have old owner's name written several times) Another killer Bay Area sweet soul record with a good northern-style flip. Tate - Love Shop b/w There'll Be Some Changes Made, $125 Cloverstreet 102, VG (scuffiness from being outside a sleeve for a spell but plays great. Writing on label.) Listen: https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...12C44AA5BB7CB34 Howard Wales - Huxley Howl b/w My Blues, $100 Costal 101, VG to VG+ (lot of micro marks from being outside a sleeve, plays VG++) Well-known but scarce deep funk instrumental.
