Stateside Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 With the frequency that our beloved artists are disappearing, this a great chance to see and even speak to, one of the greatest singer songwriters of our time.Kevhttps://www.epsteinliverpool.co.uk/whats-on/the-record-producers.aspx
Daved Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 As far as I can see that's his only appearance so far. Pity because he's still on my wish list of live acts I haven't seen yet.
Stateside Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Don't know how many from this site went last night, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially the breaking down of the various elements within the songs, isolating the bass, the drums, the backing vocals, the strings etc. Interesting that the Andantes were used on a Marvelettes record instead of them, as they weren't up to it vocally and they never knew. Before you ask, he didn't say which song. Also the use of various instruments such as the Sitar and the Wurlitzer!Would have liked a bit more focus on his own solo career, especially the ABC years. Steve Plumb Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Superb night, really enjoyed it and like you say, Kev, i'd have also liked more time to hear about his solo career too? As we were in there for two and a half hours, we'd have needed another couple of hours i reckon? What we did get was a unique insight into the peak times of Motown and Hot Wax/Invictus and it was totally fascinating and i for one was so happy I saw a PROPER legend in the flesh in a superb setting of the Epstein Theatre.
