DeltaSouth Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 The record company that i work with has been around for 69 years... two generations. Many of you might know them from the releases on Soul Unlimited, Blues Unlimited or the Master-Trak labels. Some of the soul artists that came from the blues and zydeco bands locally, produced the releases thatthe Northern Soul community enjoys. They were back up singers, etc... who broke out on their own... and got to "cut a record"... such as Kat & The Kittens or Bobby Price.Others such as Lil Bob & The Lolipops were a local regular act, years ago. They played at a bar i managed, back in my college years... decades ago.Perhaps I'm biased, because I got to see many of these artists perform live, back in the 70s & 80s...but much of the music JD Miller produced, would be a fine addition to any soul/funk/r&b dj vinyl box!Great soul & funk... you should have seen them live!!Those of us who remain, here working at the Master Trak record company (bunch of grey hair folks)want to thank all the music lovers and DJs for listening to these artists and promoting the beautiful workthey provided for all of us.The value is in the grooves. thanks for supporting a small town record company...we're still here, after 69 years... 2
