thevoola Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Shout was a division of Bang,(Bert Berns) presumably Atlantic would have been involved?
Robbk Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Shout was distributed by Columbia at one time, and Atlantic, as well (I believe).
Guest Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Thx, so mid 6ts shout were distributed by columbia then?
The Yank Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Bang which was started in March of 1965 was distributed by Atlantic up until mid 1966. The company's name came from the owners initials B(Bert Berns), A (Ahmet Ertegun) N (Nesuhi Ertegun) G ( Gerald aka Jerry Wexler) . Bert started Shout after he left Atlantic. Bang/ Shout lasted until about 1970. Both companies were revived in '72 or '73. Sometime after the success of Brick's "Dazz", the companies were distributed by Columbia. I have never seen a company sleeve for the 60's Bang and Shout labels. Edited July 10, 2015 by the yank
