Jaco Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Was this associated originally with any particular venue/jock? Great dance track.
Paul R Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I'm sure it was just a new release on Contempo in about 74/75 that was being pushed by Blues & Soul. I never remember it being too big anywhere. Paul

Paul74/5, so maybe a Mecca track? Just that I don't remember it from then but it perhaps was lost in the deluge of stuff being discovered/played at that time. 1

BrianB Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Definitely played at Wigan in the main room, probably late 75. Ginger also played it, and it was played at Burnley Rose Room and the Circ all dayers.
Paul R Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I don't remember this at Wigan or Burnley either. Strange! Paul
Wiganer1 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 played this at the nuneaton coop oldies allnighter the other week...went down really wellstill a £5 record
Winsford Soul Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 My copy was on Scepter with licensed to Contempo record's underneath. Didn't see another one.Great record and was definitely played at the CasinoSteve
John Benson Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 First time I heard it would have been at The Ebor Suite in York - so most likely played by Alan Rhodes. But agreed, it was played all over Yorkshire (at least) to my knowledge - maybe not for a long time though. I'd say it got dropped as soon as the Contempo release came out, which was when I bought my copy. The US Contempo / Scepter 45 must have come out a short while after that but it was many years later before I came across a copy.
Sean Hampsey Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I played it out every weekend for several months, must have been around mid '75? Agree John, a huge record around S.Yorks at the time. 1
Back Street Blue Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 definitely Wigan, (and possibly Magnet Oldham mid-week) '74My mate Chaddy's favourite sound then and now
Jaco Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 The Magnet. Another gaff I frequented but don't remember it from there either!
