Harry Crosby Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Thanks to Hadyn Bye, who couldn`t post due to work restrictions. It`s the Manhattens-That New girl-Carnival. 1
Woodbutcher Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Same song but completely different vocal , a solo with backing on the "unknown" rather than a group harmony ... ?Not to mention the different tempo.
Robbk Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The demo record was made in a Cleveland, Ohio studio. The Manhattans version was written by Carnival Records' owner, so I assume that that was the original. I assume this Ohio version was a remake. It's pretty nice, with a nice vocal and nice guitar. I'd like to hear a group behind him. There may have been a background group on another track. I don't remember ever seeing a remake of this song.
Woodbutcher Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Nice article about Mr Boddie here ... https://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2010/11/pioneering_boddie_recording_co.html 1
