Benji Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Just a quick question. I used to upload my Ebay and Soul Source Sales audio clips to Divshare.com. Seems like they cancelled the free basic accounts and accept premium accounts only now. Does somebody know an alternative website where I can upload audio clips and stream them from there? TIA Benji
Chalky Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Maybe Dropbox. Create a sharing folder and add the link
Only Dreaming Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I've been using dropbox (public folder) for years with no problems. Good Luck with it. Dave
Benji Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) I uploaded a few clips to Mediafire and sent out the link to a few mates. Seems like it's ok. Edited June 4, 2015 by Benji
Chalky Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 does the link show as a player with media fire? 10gig free is pretty good, even the pro with 1TB of storage for $25 is really good deal.
Benji Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 It's a link to a subfolder I created. Leads to a Mediafire page where all mp3 clips in said folder are listed. You click on one and choose download or stream. If stream a new page opens with an online player.
Chalky Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Signed up for free, if I can share individual files will be an answer to migrating Stafford Story from web to a blog with downloads? Website bit expensive now.
Chalky Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I put one of my podcasts in a folder, shared it, worked fine. After a few minutes mediafire copyrighted the file and denied permission for anyone to listen.
Tiberius Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Had the same problem with divshare so now use Tindeck. Works in the same way in that you can embed a player in an ebay listing. Worth mentioning that the player will not display on an ipad or iphone but this is no different to the divshare player. I did wonder if it would be possible to use Mixcloud but haven't tried it.
Benji Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 I just checked. Mediafire already copyrighted one of my files, saying it might be available as legal download on Amazon. Even though my file is only a <1 min clip. I guess they cross search using the filenames as search terms. Annoying but hey, they have to make sure nobody's sharing illegal stuff Maybe re-naming the file will do, in case of the Stafford podcasts maybe something like St. Afford? 1
Chalky Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I mailed them asking why and they said it was done in error and the copyright removed and any strikes against my account removed. I asked thm what their criteria was for but waiting for a reply. It would appear they simp,y cross reference titles with amazon as I had the same, Hook Line and Sinker (title of the podcast) can or may be bough on amazon.
Quinvy Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I usually use the e commerce player, but it's limited to how many tracks are free.
