Dayo Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 (edited) Just a quickie: We don't get out much, but I love all things NS, especially sixties. She is a Surrey girl and loves her funk. Is there a large event nationwide or a smaller one in the Midlands that will keep us both happy? And what the heck is "funky edge" anyway? At a guess, something like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMRSMRBPIvM Or is this more like funky edge? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3i_feNNUD4 Edited May 11, 2015 by Dayo
Popular Post Markw Posted May 11, 2015 Popular Post Posted May 11, 2015 Just go to Soul Funktion and put any preconceived ideas in a box for the night. It's brilliant. 4
Spacehopper Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 yep soulfunktion or the soul alley at the Gloucester allnighter (where were you mark?) or gogo children in Bristol 1

Popular Post grouse Posted May 22, 2015 Popular Post Posted May 22, 2015 I think having a separate funk room is a great idea. Stops it getting played in the main room.... 5
Guest rodw Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Pumping Hearts Allnighter in Walsall is well worth a visit too. It's a nice mix of 60's & Funk Edged in the one room. Also Burnley Allnighter has roughly the same music policy. Both great venues for like minded folk..........
Jordirip Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Colin, just go to the next Soul Funk-tion in Walsall. Dark, hot, sweaty and atmospheric, full of energy and good vibes, some of the music is utterly sublime. Here's a couple of examples of things that get spins. Earl English & The Apaches Willie Wright 2
