Ted Massey Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Rob Wigleys got mine now unless that one of them Nobody has responded to the thrust of the thread that it is stupid to bid so early in an auction
Pete S Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Rob Wigleys got mine now unless that one of them Nobody has responded to the thrust of the thread that it is stupid to bid so early in an auction The thinking is to go in with a strong bid which will automatically put people off bidding
Martyn Pitt Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 The thinking is to go in with a strong bid which will automatically put people off bidding I see that John has withdrawn this, due to suspicious bidding activity. Fair play, and credit to John for that. Martyn

Martyn Pitt Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Is that on the site Martyn ? Yes it says "Auction Closed" 'We have had no alternative but to WITHDRAW this record from our auctions. We have detected the owner is bidding against genuine bidders. We will take all steps necessary to retain this auctions honesty, integrity and reputation and will not hesitate to withdraw any item we feel has had false bids placed on it.' Martyn

Wondered who one of the bidders was. Didn't recall that username bidding before, but the other bidder is a big buyer of the more expensive sounds. Could be a bigger mystery than Big Sam
Mark Bicknell Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Did this not hit seven grand??? oh what i could buy with that kinda money and more than one record...lol still each to his own i guess? Mark Bicknell.
Harrogatesoul Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Think its fair to say that all the flack that flies around dealers auctions is well summised by the fact that JM closed the auction (thru detection or other means) even though the legit. bidder was matching the bids. Credit where credits due. Rich

Guest andycambs Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Its a pity John didn't close the auction early with the owner winning, then charge the 10% or whatever it is commision before letting him have it back, an easy £700 I reckon
