Guest chorleybloke Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 The attached Johnny Caswell label is from my collection & I'm wondering if it's a one-off. Not only is the label reversed (Decca logo on the right instead of the left) but it has also been signed by the man himself. Seems to be some kind of pressing plant cock up but I'm struggling to understand how they managed to correct the problem after just one pressing. Any insights appreciated. Cheers Pete
Woodbutcher Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Appears to have April 8 over the "Caswell" and ?April 8/9th 1976 on the other side ... ? Guess he was doing a live show somewhere in UK on that date ... ? Does look like a wrong'un though ...
45cellar Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Seem to recall one was auctioned a few years ago with the label logo to the right. It is a few years ago but described as extremely rare if memory serves. Plus there's this one on Popsike. This copy on Popsike does have copied labels stuck on to a Re-Issue, but the copied labels may be from the Auctioned copy that I remember. There's also your copy with writing on Popsike www.popsike.com It is a different run at the printers as the Label Credits are in a different place plus it has the Large font. I suspect it's an error at the pressing plant and very few copies about. 1
