A diversity which saw the numbers of people attending allnighters drop by over 50% when Modern Soul was introduced big time at the end of the 70's

Or perhaps ( and more likely) they had had enough by then and concentrated on family, work, pub, became New Romantics etc? That was my experience of the 20 or so I knocked around with late 70s

Yeah I did all that to be honest but I still wouldn't go to any Northern do's playing mainly Modern like a lot did, in fact I stopped going anywhere except the Old Vic
