Frankie Crocker Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Abominable. Not seen it before. This bloke would be out of his depth in a puddle in the car park. I've seen better Dad Dancing at a wedding. Was this an April 1st post? 2
sir cumference Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Have to add-THIS is what makes a mockery of the Northern scene. If this bloke is seriously believing he has credibility, then he has no idea. But the question is-WHO TAUGHT HIM!LOL!
Guest miff Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Fcuk me I've been doing all wrong for the last 40 years
paultp Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 This is the worst of his videos, presumably this is him putting it all into practice.
sir cumference Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Fcuk me I've been doing all wrong for the last 40 years Looks like a few of us have. The bit about bringing your arms across made me laugh.isn`t it natural for your arms to move, anyway? Unless you`re back in the seventies and people walked around with their hands in their sidepocket trousers(and a hunched back!)
Shsdave Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Looks like a few of us have. The bit about bringing your arms across made me laugh.isn`t it natural for your arms to move, anyway? Unless you`re back in the seventies and people walked around with their hands in their sidepocket trousers(and a hunched back!) The arm mention is great but nowhere near as funny as the "group lesson" video (must try & find it) where they're in line dancing mode & they're all dancing from side to side with one hand on their hip & on a side ways sweep ( I know all the lingo ) they all flick their hands in the air ala saturday night fever so it looks like a troup of dancing teapots, absolutely hilarious 1

Zoomsoulblue Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Am sorry I cant take a video seriously, when it looks like there's 2 types of coloured tiles on the floor, that's just crazy 2
Popular Post Seano Posted April 2, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 2, 2015 I don't have a problem with how this guy dances, or anybody else for that matter, but what seemed odd to me was just the comment in that first video posted in this thread where he explains that the video may be useful if "you're looking to get into Northern Soul." Just seems a weird idea, flick through some magazines, social media or whatever, and toy with the idea "Yeah, might fancy a bit of this Northern thing." Obviously I know we all started at some point, but I think for everyone who stays with the music, no matter how much your tastes change and expand, the interest in Northern was pretty much instant. You didn't really choose it, it just took hold of you. 8
Kevinkent Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Came across this not sure if its been featured on here Dave, what exactly were you looking for when you found this? - Kev

Kevinkent Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 You must have seen me "dance" over the years Kev, all this time I've been wondering what to do with my arms ......... now I know Hope you're well mate ? I'm good Dave, or I was until I fell over. Vid 2 reminded me of a few I've seen at 'local' soul nights. It's the innocenti effect. - Kev
Chatty Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Fecking hell, thought I'd mastered it then find out there's part 2 and 3! 1
50 Shades Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) why dont you see his face? Cos he's wearing headphones and dancing to a different record on the second vid - Less is more usually works better, imo. Best shiny shoes seen in a while though Edited April 3, 2015 by 50 Shades
Frankie Crocker Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Tragic. The thing is, I've seen similar at some do's, young debutante, six pints into the evening has plucked up courage and hit the nursery slopes during a mid-tempo number. All well and good until something a bit more up-tempo comes on and then this hokey-cokey malarkey just doesn't work, resulting in another toilet break or wallflower duty round the outside...
Woodbutcher Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Highly embarrassed he must be you would think ... But bear in mind that if camera-phones and 'YT' were available back in the 'olden' days the net would be awash with shaky clips of all those flash dancers you remember going through their 'practice' routines in their bedrooms , and Liveleak awash with them falling on their arses ...
KevH Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 That's the last time I try and help you all with a video you bastards. ,i've seen you dance Matt. That's not you....no samba's.!!
dedji1955 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Just came across this 6 week beginners dance course on Gumtree Some of you may recall the standard of the dancers this outfit trained for the Wigan Flashmob Debacle https://www.gumtree.com/p/classes/6-week-beginners-northern-soul-dance-course-starting-tuesday-march-31st-7.00-8.00pm/1106320186
Simsy Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I was pleasantly impressed by his shoes. There, something positive. Shite dancer though & = shite ill advised tutorial.
Guest Dirk Tiggler Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 First thought was ' I don't dance like that do I ?' Second thought was 'well how do I dance?' Truly never seen a recording of my feet close up when dancing... Out comes the video recorder and on goes a tune! The result? in truth average at best, certainly not for sharing! As my wife used to say when out at do's, 'you mix in OK dear' I used to take that as a vote of confidence! Ade
Keeper Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 You must have seen me "dance" over the years Kev, all this time I've been wondering what to do with my arms ......... now I know Hope you're well mate ? Guest manusf3a Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Just came across this 6 week beginners dance course on Gumtree Some of you may recall the standard of the dancers this outfit trained for the Wigan Flashmob Debacle https://www.gumtree.com/p/classes/6-week-beginners-northern-soul-dance-course-starting-tuesday-march-31st-7.00-8.00pm/1106320186 Wonder how much they are charging folk mate? six weeks eh!you would have to be up a gumtree to pay for that course!
Steve S 60 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Wonder how much they are charging folk mate? six weeks eh!you would have to be up a gumtree to pay for that course! £30 for six weeks. That's £5 a lesson. That money would be better spent on admissions to soul nights, then you can see how it's done in the real world, not some sell out "instructor's" version of how we all should be dancing, by numbers. These so called instructors need to watch their backs. Look what happened to Bruce Lee. 1
Woodbutcher Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 The dance class video to end all dance class videos ...
Guest Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Came across this not sure if its been featured on here If you turn off the volume and use you imagination it`s a physiotherapy routine on recovery from spinal surgery!
grouse Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) The dance class video to end all dance class videos ... I can't believe I just watched that all the way through..... Edited April 9, 2015 by grouse
50 Shades Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I hope the jerky head movements catch on. It will look like those doing videos at do's have got the 'shakes'
Paul R Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 At least the music & dancing were almost in time, something you don't see very often in youtube vids. Paul
