Dennyj Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I'm not a regular record dealer I just put out fairly large and hopefully reasonably priced sales lists once or twice a year - as I did on here a couple of weeks ago. I'm writing this on here to say i'm amazed at the number of time wasters out there who ask about records or who ask for them to be put on hold and then just don't bother to reply after 7 days or more ?? especially when other folks have asked and i've had to say it's already sold I'm beginning to sympathise with regular dealers ! I did have a good response from a lot of good buyers - you know who you are and many tks cheers, bitching over !Denny

Chalky Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 have seen one or two posts about time wasters recently why not name and shame so that other dealers are aware of antics? you wouldn't mind if they told you they weren't bothered then at least they can be offered to other potential buyer but for both the seller and other collectors to lose out due to time wasters is just not cricket

Anyone who chooses not to honour a verbal or written commitment to buy a record and can't be bothered to explain why, should be subsequently named and shamed, then maybe they would think twice before acting that way in the future.
Modernsoulsucks Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 There's a couple of guys still to send for reserved 45s Im holding from list I recently posted. But shit happens and no sweat if they don't honour their orders. However Im not a full-time dealer who relies on the money to spoil their little angels rotten like Pete. People who order from full-time dealers need to remember that. Not exactly a new phenomena. I was full-time from 88-2000. A lot of guys overstretch themselves cos of this silly obssession we all have. So name and shame. Not really. Bit more individual responsibility and integrity needed. ROD
Tony Turner Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 This has happened to me also unfortunately, including one guy who asked me to pull a record from ebay and then said that he'd got another copy and no longer wanted it, but I had to chase him first to get that info. So that one cost ME money as well!
