has gone for over a 1000 recently

As Ted says, if you can get it for less then good luck! 

I've got a copy of this from back in the day. As I'm not a collector can you advise what the origibal should look like - there's the outside chance that I might be a rich man!!

Have a look at the run off Paul, if it's more than quarter inch wide it's a reissue - also, theres a dip down to the centre on the label on the reissue, the original is flat.  Finally, when you play it, when the horns come in they start in one speaker before someone turns the other channel up!
