Gointoagogo Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I gave this one hundreds of plays back in the day. I think if you really like 75% of a comp. (like enough to get the vinyl) you are doing well. I can't think of any compilation where every single track does it for me. Lost Soul Oldies vol.6 1. Pretty Little School Girl/Emory & Dynamics 2. Give It A Chance To Grow/Toppiks 3. Yes I Do/Bleu Lights 4. Look Up, Look Down/Soft Touch 5. All Roads Lead To Heartbreak/Symphonics 6. I Can't Wait/Dontells 7. You Stood Me Up/Specials 8. Someone/Lovers 9. Thinking About My Baby/Geminiles 10. When Your Baby's Gone/Billy Butler & Infinity 11. Where You Live/Flairs 12. How Do You Say Goodbye/Heartbreakers 13. Please Baby Please/Sensations 14. A New World Beautiful/Donald Jenkins 15. I Can't Tell A Lie/The Gas Light 16. This Love/Joy Tones 17. I Shed A Tear/Don Hart & James Shorter 18. Sugar (Don't Take Away My Candy)/Jive 5 19. Pick Your Self Up/E.G. Taylor & Sounds of Soul 20. Surrender/Toppiks 21. Love Has Gone Away/Combination Inc
Westender Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 The Dave Godin Deep Soul Treasures sets are very fine. Kents Where Country meets Soul series is top notch. The History of Soul series is well worth searching out. And I've enjoyed the recent CD's from Kent featuring the songs of Phillip Mitchell and Sam Dees too. But there has been a lot of very good compilations.

Popular Post BrianB Posted March 11, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2015 Funny, I was just thinking of posting the other day on just how good DJ Honky's free double CD was. I played it recently and it has to be one of the best compilations ever, and they were free, with free postage! Full marks to him for that. I love the RCA ones and some of the Motown twofers have seen some great, relatively unknown tracks become available. The Vandellas ones were particularly good. 4
Benji Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 US Lowrider bootleg compilation. Quality one though
Soulfinger Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I can't choose between Rare, Collectible and Soulful vol 1 and Sock it to 'em Soul
Rich B Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Not big or clever but I thought the Pied Piper compilation was one of the best I've ever heard - I think there was only one track I didn't like!
Guest Russell H Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 There was a good one out recently, called The Odyssey... anyone here heard of it?
