Sheldonsoul Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Just noticed a red & white uk demo of the drifter sold for £1232.12 !!!!!!!!!!!!! on uk ebay, would have thought £250-£350 max ? Gotta be some right loons out there 1
Bo Diddley Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 There's also one on the JM auctions. That'll be interesting to see how it ends.
Bo Diddley Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 And t'uther went for £750.00 I think that one had a small bit of writing on the label - "MUFF" I think !!!!!!!! That's a hell of an expensive Muff if it cost the best part of £500. 2
Sheldonsoul Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Hope this isn't going to be a benchmark for most uk demos lol lol
Ernie Andrews Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 The whole scene is absolutely Phooked! Charge whatever you like is todays name of the game! A lot of dealers/collector sellers are taking the preverbial! Next The Stringfield family - Sounds of disco will become popular cos a dealer says so and it will be £300 when its real value is around £15
ockers Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 If youve won the lottery got a hig pension pot or youre rich and like the music and want original records you can pay big sums to get them Its not a reflection of the scene as a whole in my view 2

Gotta be some right loons out there Well, my friends if you listen to Mannys latest description perhaps you will understand; "Opening the birth sleeve,Iwas met with tumultuous euphoria, the vision of the red and white demo when achieving ownership of this legendary trophy is my most memorable moment "[at age 65] it surpases the other land marks in his life,Better than, aged 10 ;"kissing Christine Carter in the school play ground " Aged14; Scoring his first goal for Melton Swifts ona sunday morning, Finally at 25years; Catching a 6 lb Chubb with bait of seriously strong cheddar " And there s more the lure of the Green and White demo; "Overwhelming, bustling with northern Soul kudos, played every hour ,on the hour,A Frank Wilson masterpiece!" Whats Johnny talking about ,obviously "Stoned Love " The Supremes. JM I Love You .
Sheldonsoul Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 I bet a lot of members and collectors on ss must be rubbing their hands with glee watching these prices spiral out of control , and a fair few surely must be tempted to cash in 1

Sjclement Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 How many UK demos would have been pressed 100? 500? Was it ever reissued on the brown and cream UK lable ? 1
Sheldonsoul Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Thought it was 500 demos is that not the same as tmg demos ?
Chalky Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I tend not to believe many prices on ebay these days. So many sellers have their mates bidding the price up, money laundering etc etc.... 3
paultp Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 money laundering ?? don't understand You buy a record somewhere at any price with dirty cash, sell it on ebay, get paid using paypal, transfer money to bank account. Dirty money to clean money at not much cost in a week.
