Pete S Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Anyone else? I know it's only a tenner on it's usual design but this West Coast one is one I've not seen before 1
Pete S Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 there's one on ebay Pete Can't see it. Wasn't saying it was a world exclusive! But still never seen it before.

JOE TORQUAY Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 just thought to look for mine and it's on the lable you posted pete, got the same drill hole as well, so maybe it was done at the same time, joe.
Soultrainer Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 It's a nice tune at any price. I remember a tune from 'back in the day' by Mamie Galore called 'Can't have cake (and eat it too)' or similar. Is that an expensive/rare tune, not seen or heard it anywhere in 35 years. I've either imagined it or should get out more. 1

Soultrainer Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 That's the rascal, brilliant tune. Not sure why I credited it (in my head) to Mamie Galore, I wonder if it was covered as such? Thanks Pete. Now .... who's selling one?!

Now .... who's selling one?! I didn't hear this until late 2000's I think, I got one easy enough, but haven't had another since so I think it might be £100 or so 1
grant Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 paid £100 for my lela martin about 2 years ago, seen it for around the same recently
Still Diggin Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Just noticed this is credited to William powell. The backing track sounds rather like 'heartache souvenirs'.
45cellar Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Here's my copy, but as you can see the labels are marked. Not seen many over the years, It isn't easy to find in any condition. I would say you've done well to find a copy plus it has decent labels. 1
45cellar Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 A couple of other West Coast press, not expensive but as with the MAMIE P. GALORE quite elusive. 1
Sebastian Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Just wonder why that didn't show up when I searched for it. If you're using the ebay.co.uk site then that's probably why. Lots of records on ebay.com are not showing up on the "regional" sites (.uk .ca etc.). You have to pay extra for listings to show up on the non-US sites.

Tony Smith Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 That's the rascal, brilliant tune. Not sure why I credited it (in my head) to Mamie Galore, I wonder if it was covered as such? Thanks Pete. Now .... who's selling one?! It was c/u as Gwen Owens and the Servicemen! by Pat Brady. 1
Guest SteveJohnston Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Tony it was covered up but for the life of me I could not remember the cover up name, its still not one I remember under that name but your memory is streets ahead of mine so no doubt you'll be right ;-)
Pomonkey Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 There's an acetate of Lela Martin using the Heartache Souveneirs backing track, one of the bunch found after she died sadly
Jerry Hipkiss Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) Tony it was covered up but for the life of me I could not remember the cover up name, its still not one I remember under that name but your memory is streets ahead of mine so no doubt you'll be right ;-) First heard this when Dave Flynn used to play it at the Dome - according to him it got a few spins at Stafford covered up as Gwen Owens...https://www.anorakscorner.com/DiscReviews2.html Edited March 5, 2015 by Jerry Hipkiss
