Kev John Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Was talkin' to KevH about this record on Saturday @ Life Line i'm just wondering its @ £112 with 2week to go What do you think it will go for ? atb Kev Edited March 5, 2015 by Kev John
Garethx Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I have one of these–bought for pennies thirty years ago–so will be interested to see what this makes. Don't think I could get my head around it as a youth but it makes more sense now as a pretty good piece of Chicago Northern. 2
Popular Post Pete S Posted March 2, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 2, 2015 Why would anyone consider that an auction record? £50 job. 4
KevH Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Does the Golden Gate one turn up that often.? Down to Earth were common.
Pete S Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Does the Golden Gate one turn up that often.? Down to Earth were common. No but - hardly a record to get excited over 1
Andrea Ko Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 it reminds me of the mamselles "open up your heart" 1
Citizen P Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Flippin heck, bought this a few years back for a fiver, when I found out that the Golden Gate wasn't a pressing I was well pleased..
Amsterdam Russ Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Never liked this and years ago gave away a copy I picked up cheaply to a friend for nothing.
Popular Post Paul R Posted March 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 3, 2015 Always reminds me of Nowhere To Run. Paul 6

Guest Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I've always thought it's a great Chicago hard-core dancer. I like Mr Manships description, he's got excellent Northern Soul taste! The price should not be to high as there has been significant number of copies found over the years.

Solution Dean Posted March 4, 2015 Solution Posted March 4, 2015 Love it and not just fond memories, think it stands up now. However playing along I'll guess £320, thinking it will stall, guessing rest of world value at £200 . Was it booted on Down to Earth? 1

KevH Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I thought there was no definite proof which label came first.?
Pete S Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 You're still all talking about a fair to middling dancer, common, worth £50. Why would anyone pay more? 1
KevH Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 You're still all talking about a fair to middling dancer, common, worth £50. Why would anyone pay more? Its all about opinions and discussion.I rate this highly, couldn't care less whether if fetches big money or not.Been waiting for this to be played more often for years. Its just interesting that's all. One thing's for sure, it won't run to 2/3 pages like some records do.......

KevH Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 But whether it's good or bad, it's not an auction record is it? What next, The Triumphs "Walking The Duck"? Agree Pete, but we shouldn't be suprised at anything nowadays.
Kev John Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 I thought there was no definite proof which label came first.? Hi Kev I've only got JM's Edition 3 Price for Golden Gate issue £75 Down To Earth Copy £50 He's highlighted that Golden gate was BOOTED not the DTE issues, DTE are 2nd presses so he says so was i wrong for calling them boots so are they legit 2nd ? There is very little info on the GG issue run out my mate has 2 copies on DTE he's gonna get back to me on run out info asap atb Kev
KevH Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 That's what i thought Kev,GG first,DTE 2nd...though why anyone would boot a local release like GG......the DTE ones were about in abundance, that's probably why they were look upon as boots. 1
Billy Jo Jim Bob Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Agree Pete, but we shouldn't be suprised at anything nowadays. On a general point, some of the records being auctioned nowadays are a) not rare and b) pants. As for the Dushons. I have to be honest I forgotten all about it and having played on JM's I now realise why. 1
