Thanks for your feedback Chas. The event was aimed at complimenting Mark's regular events in the Main Hall at The Talk in Norwich featuring mainly classic and quality NS oldies and so the emphasis was to cover records which don't get played so often. I actually agreed a trade for the Bobby Foster track with one of the other dj's a couple of weeks ago and he turned up with it on the night about 5 mins before I was due to go on. It had apparently come from Soul Bowl and been in his collection since 74 and hadn't been played since, so job done on that one at least .
Chas Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Pleasure, all the 45's have thier time eventually I reckon, lack of regular weekly/monthly venues making it so hard to break them though. At lifeline recently in the middle of half a dozen or so funky tracks,Sam Dees"soul sister"pops up,sounded so right for now and pricked a few ears up.So much still to go at,definitely see us old buggers out! 2
Bossfourpart1 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Still waiting to hear from Andy but some of the tunes were : Fascinators - in other words Betty Wilson - i'm yours Phonetics - just a boys dream Two people - leave my heart alone Bobby Kline - taking care of business Porgy and the Monarchs - ? original Musicor Acetate Poets - wrapped around your finger Sensations - Demanding man Ruby - feminine ingenuity Gil &the Bishops - not the End and loads more of this calibre .......will add more when he replies. regards Frank Edited March 18, 2015 by Bossfourpart1 1
