Certainly written by Floyd- and Booker T and Al Bell. I can only assume Jackey Beavers thought he could get away with it - there are plenty of other examples of people claiming they wrote things they didn't - or it is simply a genuine mistake.
davidwapples Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 just looked at my kenny hambric 12" it says booker t jones and eddie floyd were the writers
Chalky Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 wouldn't be the first time an artist has claimed something to be his that isn't and there are various examples of this amongst what we collect.

You are dead right Chalky - but this is pushing it a bit - Floyd's was Top 40 pop and no 2 R&B !!!

Mike Lofthouse Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Wonder if the co-writers ever took any action? Probably up to their eyes at that time with legal matters having just had their back catalogue 'robbed'!!! 2
Smudger Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Classic case of this is Deadric Malone on labels such as Duke ,was actually Don Robey who ( allegedly ) used other peoples songs and put pseudonym on so he would get the rights.A reason why many artists were pissed off with the system at the time because all monies went to owner. I suppose he got them on 45 and many would have been glad just to be recorded but he certainly knew what made the money over the years. Edited February 27, 2015 by smudger 2
