MarkH Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Looking for a copy of JP Robinson - You can be a lady (Alston) Thanks Mark H
Garethx Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 This is a rare record and a really one good too. Not distributed by Atlantic, unlike JPR's other Alston singles. The Atlantic distributed version of "Love Is Not A Stranger" has "You Got Your Thing On A String" on the flip. I've only seen one for sale in the last decade. Price doesn't reflect its scarcity. If it suddenly got in-demand a few could be winkled out out of collections no doubt, but while it's under the radar it's a tough one to track down.
Steve G Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I also have a local issue of "Love is not a stranger" on Alston 4577 as well as an Atlantic distributed one. This side came out twice as a B side. Alston 4574 is the version Mark wants with the "You can be a lady" A side. Nice 45. Strange that they put the same B side out twice though….obviously short of tracks. 1
Steve G Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Local (non Atlantic) issue 4577 for info. 1
MarkH Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Thanks Steve. I have the other release of "Love is not a stranger " but unfortunately not the one with "You could be a lady" 1
