The Mutts Nutts

What a lovely record, and with Your Love Is Everything on the other side I think it's one of the best records ever issued, makes me feel really emotional.

Hi Geoff, to be honest I've only ever seen it on album but no doubt someone on here will be able to confirm better than me x

I love this one x

Quite like it too!

Early Merry Clayton. She's some singer and incredibly was just 15 when she recorded this.

David Gates must be the Bread man, I imagine?

This is lovely, is it album only?

Takes a few plays to appreciate but worth the effort. Arranged by Horace Ott so got to be good.

Ruby and the Romantics already had 2 great tracks mentioned so here's a third

Only Heaven Knows on ABC

They also did a version of Hurting Each Other on A&M but not as good as the Ruth Lewis on RCA already posted.

I feel a wants list coming on...So add to add to the sublime agony of the thread I give you:

Lorraine Ellison 'Please don't Teach Me To Love You'

Dee Dee Warwick 'When I Haven't Got Anything Better to Do'

-well lots of Dee Dee really

Barbara Lewis 'Hello Stranger'

and lots of others if I go upstairs and look but the log mans coming and I've got to handball a ton of firewood in the rain so it'll have to wait.

I've just read that Lesley Gore has died. She did this one, a great version of the song  recorded by the Chiffons.

Fabulous tune Geoff x

Yes,you can end the thread now Jim. :)

I had one of these for sale yesterday and nobody bought it.  Unbelievable.  I've never heard such a heartbreaking performance such as Big Maybelle's on Oh Lord etc, especially right near the end where it has a chord change and she almost cries asshe sings.  An amazing record.

Apologies for not reading through the thread, the youtube clips are playing up a bit but I'm going to add to that, I apologise if someone else has posted this but MY GOD this is incredible...and only ten quid
