Woodbutcher
yes i'm beginning to think the same - sooty sure is a "big hit for himself" SOOTY, you quote - I do recall being the only one Nationally to spin many of the tunes I listed during the period designated....up North and down sarf....at the major Nighter venues including my own St Ives and the Maltings.what with him DJ'ing Nationally!!! firstly, reference this quote - i doubt it, and secondly as Chalky quotes, most had probably dropped them by that time! WTF - I've been on the scene a few years and NEVER heard ANYONE use such a stupid phrase as being a NATIONAL DJ and yes Chalky, not one "newie" listed Sooty, by "bigging yourself up" like this, you sure are leaving yourself open to negative feedback!!! Things always work a little differently in Sooty's parallel universe ... 3 Link to comment Social source share

Popular Post Steve G
Hi Martyn...X Super topic and many memory's brought back mate....thanx for that!x As you have re-iterated....the core interest was to recall tunes played in the 90's...which I gladly shared tunes I...me..played from '93-2000. As a DJ and in tune with the people then I focused on not doubling up in a night....steering away from the obvious where possible.....and drawing on my active schedule each weekend for 9 years and absorbing knowledge gathered from reliable sources attending the 'happening' places to have had a good idea of what was 'in'...out'....or brand spankin I've cut the rest of the quote from your post out to save some memory space for the site. I have rarely read such a load of self inflated egoist b/s in my life. Well I have actually, but only from one or two of the "heroes" you tell us we should listen to on "the doc". National DJ - do you make these terms up? I must be living in a completely different world to you, but your post is SO NOT what it's all about. Best wishes etc... I can remember hearing this played at Keele, what's the story on this one Dave? I wasn't really into the scene at the time. I did Keele a few times around the same time as The Ritz. It came from a big pile of acetates Chris King got from Jerry Ross. Many of them were Tom Moulton mixes of things. This one is a Tom Moulton mix and unrelaesed. Spoke to Tom a few years ago and sent him a sound file, he remembered doing it, his memory was that it was recorded down in Philly by a bunch of studio musicians. Was planned to add a vocal to it, but the project got canned. 1 Link to comment Social source share
