Sean Hampsey Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Hi all - can anyone give me an idea of value on this rare version of JR Bailey's outing on Calla Cheers Girth £51 on Ebay last time I saw it Gareth. Sean Hampsey
Girthdevon Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 Nice to see we're all agreed then........somewhere between £50 & £400. Ain't this just typical of some titles these days..... Girf
Gail Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Seeing as no agreement has been reached can I have it for a fiver please??????
Girthdevon Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 Seeing as no agreement has been reached can I have it for a fiver please?????? Is that between £50 & £400, Gail Try again..... Girf
Gail Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Is that between £50 & £400, Gail Well, not exactly, no but I'm just trying to throw another price option into the ring and you'd prefer to sell it to someone who will love and cherish it, surely???? It would also guarantee you a place at the bar in heaven (with an unlimited tab) and you know that makes sense!!!!
Dave Fleming Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Hi all - can anyone give me an idea of value on this rare version of JR Bailey's outing on Calla Cheers Girth If i was selling mine i`d be looking at £250/300 for it Dave f.............
Sean Hampsey Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 51 quid 300 to 400 great record ! Last one I saw for sale went for £51 on Ebay. May this year. Baz Maleedy bagged it! Bargain? Sure... but that's what it went for! Sean
Sean Hampsey Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 A UK Seller too! https://cgi.ebay.ca/Northern-Universal-Join...9QQcmdZViewItem To be fair, the description does describe it as a £350 Tune! Ah well. Wish I had a fiver for every bargain I've failed or forgotten to bid on! Cheers Sean
Dave Pinch Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 i think its been on the bay 2 or 3 times and not sold for a fantastic amount and collectors and dealers always struggle to sell at £300+. perhaps this is because J R Bailey on calla was a top 50 r n b chart record and more readily available and a better record as well. maybe £200 a fair price dave

Girthdevon Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 J R Bailey on calla was a top 50 r n b chart record and more readily available and a better record as well. maybe £200 a fair price dave I had both records out this afternoon and played em back to back - identical backing and both have quality vocals - if JR Bailey is a better record, its by a hair's width IMO ??. Would you dance harder, wilder or more passionately to JR Bailey than the Universal Joint ?? My only reason for considering selling the Universal Joint is cos having recently picked up the JR Bailey I don't see much point in having both, and I can buy something else with the extra cash for the Universal Joint.....simple as that Girf

Reserve met? Serously, I've never seen anyone dance to either version. Great tune though, but Universal Joint, the much rarer of the two. Sean
