well i think whatever it's good to attract people it's good in general... besides nobody would have asked you a certification issued by the casino which confirmed that...

Nor me, but I was once...when I lived in Hastings, this was way back in about 2000, some guys were putting on an event in the town and asked me if I wanted to do a spot for them, I said yeah sure, anyway when they printed the posters it said "Pete Smith, Planet records, ex-Wigan Casino" so I said, er, I never DJ'd at Wigan Casino or even claim to have, and the guy said "Yes but you went didn't you, that's good enough"

By that reckoning, there must be quite a few ex Casino DJ's about.

PS Just added it to my CV.

I'd think just passing Junction 25 on the M6 would be qualification enough these days......

Homer Banks 2."Someday Were Gonna love Again" Barbara Lewis. "While your Out Looking For Sugar[for our S.W] Honey cone. Cleared the floor, if only ,the Pete Best of Northern Soul.

Mick I can guarantee you I have never sold anything made in Trinidad.

will check when I get home and let you know

One CD was called from Trinidad to Detroit (or something like that)

No that was called Kingston to Detroit - half ska, half soul - that was a podcast I did, think it's still up there

definitely not Trinidad (Pete Smith The Calypso years)

Yep thats the one, it wasn't a pod cast that I had . I bought the plain white cds.  It was a donation towards something or another.

Back then in 2004 some of these sounds I think changed my view towards soul music

Diane Lewis - You Aint Got A Chance

Karmello Brooks - Tell Me Baby

Monique _ If You Love Me

These three are the kind of thing that gets me, Well done.

You should of been on at Wigan in my books

Probably a donation to my rent.  :D

That first one is a cracker, the second one, most of that was rare at the time.

I DJ'd twice in the Mr M's early spot, no mic. No pay and 2 dozen people in there, but I can always boast "I DJ'd at Wigan Casino. I didn't discover the Carstairs though...But I played James Coit - Black Power there for the first time, for which I apologise.
