pow wow mik Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Bought a collection for the 70s jazz & funk LPs, but part of it was this pile of 100 or so 12"s from the early - mid 80s with, let's just say, a generally camp look about them, but I have no idea what they are exactly - disco, soul, dance, gay scene stuff? I was going to charity shop them but noticed a few artists i recognised like patrice rushen and esther williams so just wanted advice as to whether there is any market for it at all. My knowledge stops around 1978, so dont recognise any of it. Some dire hits in there so not expecting much. If anyone knows their 80s soul / dance, please pm & i'll send a list thanks
Thinksmart Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Although a different scene, quality soulful disco / boogie (late slower disco) has a strong market. Soul Brother Records in London is worth a chat with, they buy and sell relevant vinyl of the era. https://www.soulbrother.com/
jocko Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Check up on discogs. there is definitely a market for some of them, although bizarrely the UK ones always seem to be real cheap, which I suspect is daft as they probably sold about 2 copies against reasonable sales in the states. www,discogs.com
