Peter99 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Amazing picture. Very coincidental but i found one of these on my back door step the other night. Not knowing a great deal about these creatures I was at first fairly wary of the red "sting" at the back. Obviously for show but it demonstrates how effective the animal world is at developing protective strategies. Peter 3

Peter99 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Good evening my friend. . Apparently they're common and the caterpillars are on the move in September and October looking for a place to hibernate over winter before emerging as adult Moths next spring.SteveHiya Steve. The one I found was making his way into the house - he was lucky I didn't step on him as I went out to feed my nightly visiting hedgehogs. I popped him in a pile of leaves under one of the shrubs. It was a beautiful looking thing. I suspect the I will only see the hedgehogs for a couple more weeks now - I have invested as much as I can in providing decent food for them, I hope they survive the winter and hibernation. They're lovely to see each evening.I hope you and Lou are well Sir.Peter 1

It's fantastic. You have really looked after those hedgehogs, which will no doubt have helped them gain the necessary weight that they need to get them safely through hibernation. They will be looking for places to make a nest anytime soon as you have mentioned.Steve 2
Zed1 Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Wow not looked at that before....great car fantastic backdrop . more of a Lotus fan but Vauxhall made a great fist of their type... The VX was based around the S2 Lizzy, but with the Vauxhall 2.2 ltr NA Vectra lump in the back instead of the weekly HGF K series in the Elise. The VX was a fantastic car, completely ruined by the Comedy Lotus build quality.Lotus = Loads Of Trouble Usually Serious Edited October 16, 2015 by Zed1
