Nancy Wilcox there's only three known copies but the Paramount 4 should be played as an anniversary 45 or as the Kent re-release; that is if the DJ digs the music rather than the rarety. Thanks

Come on Ady, no bugger else has them only you. And as you know only too well, once you release them, no bugger will play them. 

 

I used to play them when I was Dj'ing because they are quality, but I got them cut off the Cd's before they were released on vinyl. Played quite a few of the Anniversary singles though, and we all hammered "good news in the morning" and that must have sold a few copies.

I always thought it was a bit of a jerky rhythm when it was last big around 1970; great record though. I'd be happy if it spread. Maxine Brown did a good version produced by Otis Redding

I think Otis produced the Loretta Williams version. It was played at the Scene back in 1965. Our missing friend Rbman used to love it when he heard it out. Got a good flipside too.

Some great revived oldies in there.Is anyone playing the If I Had My Way.I heard it at the posh venue in Dulwich and it blew me away.Mick H had it on a Virtue acetate im presuming it's from a tape.I heard James Pogson play the Sir Henry Ivy.An old Soul Sam spin from years ago.I bought one soon after.Im sure I heard Sagwarfare played in Germany.My girlfriend loves it.Who plays it over here?

A great track, I remember playing this on my Radio show as a tribute to Otis Reading as it was him that wrote it, co owned the label Jotis and the backing band are (or were) the Bar kays who some members along with Otis Reading died in the plane crash. This is often overlooked

Several venues played it in the NW, I have heard it spun at Monaco soul club, Northern line, Soul at the Services and Ramsbttom Civic in the last 3 months. Definitely not a tune for handbaggers....

If it doesn't make the 2014 list, it should make the 2015 list. Fingers crossed.

Awesome legacy from Otis, mind blowing to think what he could have produced had he still been with us today.

Baby Cakes also done by Maxine Brown. Sort of more polished version, quite nice. But not as frantic as Loretta.
