Ady Of Newark Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) Hiya Can anyone please shed any light on Lew Curtan Review / Robert Winter Band on PAD records https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/3694209?ev=rb I thought it was a boot but i see it's commanding a price between £50 & £100. Am i missing something please? Ady Edited December 13, 2014 by ady of newark
Modernsoulsucks Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 It is. Think most potential buyers would know that by now. ROD 1
Ady Of Newark Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 Hehe, i was sure that it was, but had a double-take when i came across it on Discogs !
pikeys dog Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Isn't it an edit of the 12" version booted on a 7"?
Roburt Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I'm sure it must be a real release ....... otherwise they would have spelt Curtan in some strange way such as Kirton !!
Hold Tight Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) Was apparently released for the beach shag scene. There re are some threads on here about it from a few years back as many of them were mislabelled. Also shown on JMs site/ books at £500 at the time. Mark Edited December 13, 2014 by hold tight

Chalky Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I always thought it was a Carolina beach scene bootleg and as Joe says the 12 inch edited down for the 7. It was mentioned previously in a topic about Carolina boots that they had a habit of slightly changing the spelling of names. 1

It was mentioned previously in a topic about Carolina boots that they had a habit of slightly changing the spelling of names. Not sure boot is the correct terminology? I thought it was more of a remake by someone else for the beach scene and sounds different to the Lew Kirton version. The production sounds a bit flat or lacking in some instruments?

Been a long time since I listened to the PAD version but never heard it described as a remake by another artist before? Only ever heard it described as an edited down bootleg. I will have to listen again to both when I get the chance.
