Bo Diddley Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I've only just noticed this on the JM site. A Wigan Casino Tee-Shirt from the early 70's. I'd never seen or heard of these before. Anyone here had one, seen one, knew about them??? Any other Casino Wear other than Spencers and badges? Is it a pre-Christmas wind-up? https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/auction/9583/wigan-casino-tee-shirt I can see these being "booted" and on eBay ready for Santa to deliver . If folks are willing to produce/buy a repo-membership card, who knows

Floyd Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Now, now Floyd, are you sure you never bought it? :-) Hi i may have, but doubt it, its a long time ago and my heads not what it used to be after years of nighters and soulnights, but no matter how much of a mess i was in i couldnt see myself paying for that thing , sure i was given it free but you never know , could have been in such a mess that i actually paid for it!!!!! ATB Floyd
Reforee Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Yes it was sold/ Freebie at Wigan I remember being given one and a Bag (still got the bag) by the manager as a lad I knew, John Rall, from the forces, used to be a doorman there and when we met up I got in for free, got bag and shirt along with patches. I was still wet behind the ears in them early days of the 70s. So getting the exec treatment was dead mint in those days! the design is how I remember it, but to be honest over the years not many seem to recall the shirt or indeed the bag. I have posted pics of the bag in a previous post on here a few weeks/ months back. As a piece of memorabilia it's just that. Cant see the point in being negative as regards to the item! Dave H
Guest Johnny One Trout Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Weren't you wearing it on Saturday night Dave?
Guest Matt Male Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I might be willing to part with these if the price is right. Found in the bogs at the 4th Anniversary. pants2.jpg Blimey, popular post, but no interest yet.
Guest Garry Huxley Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 and it's got that nicotine stained sweat that used to drip on us from the ceiling, such a well ventilated place to go to
Guest son of stan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 (edited) So getting this straight, an inferior quality cotton top, produced to be given away free to promote a nightclub 40 odd years ago is now 'an (sic) historic artifact (sic)'? Ok...Thank you, Sothebys... Previous one sold to a museum? Didn't realise there was a Museum of Worthless Old Tat. Glad to see it has not met its reserve. If it fails to do so, I suggest the seller should be made to wear this foolish garment in public forever more....;-) Edited December 17, 2014 by son of stan
Bo Diddley Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Just as a round-up of the thread - Tee Shirt finished at £186 There is some talk in another thread that the Darrell Banks London Issue crashed the site I think we all know the item which created the REAL interest, enough to cause the damage 2
Guest Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I might be willing to part with these if the price is right. Found in the bogs at the 4th Anniversary. pants2.jpg And they were found in the ladies bogs as well!
Rob Moss Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Sold mine for £200 a couple of years ago. Think it's in a museum somewhere now! 1
