George M Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Please email ruralconcourse@yahoo.com with any enquiries. thanks, George Harvey Scales & the Seven Seas “Trying To Survive” (Magic Touch) EX offers Dark funky soul with a message, that’s hard to beat. The last copy I had for offers a while back went for a grand in strong VG. This one is sharp, besides the label being pressed ever so slightly off centre (still well inside the run-out grooves though, and not too noticeable). Current high bid is at £900. Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/harveyscales_tryingtosurvive.mp3 The Loveseed “Loveseed / Being Alone” (Amnestay) solid VG £125 Obscure northern backed with a sweet ballad. “Loveseed” plays great, a little faint noise on the ballad side & faint ringwear to labels. Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/loveseed.mp3 #2: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/loveseed_ballad.mp3 3rd World Band “Third World Tripping” (New World) VG £100 Powerful ‘70s funk banger from Norfolk VA. Only light surface marks, but like virtually all copies this has some kind of surface “sheen” — luckily barely audible once the music starts. Clean labels, and slight dish not affecting play (in favour of Pt.2). Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/3rdworldband_thirdworldtripping.mp3 Devil’s Workshop “Satan’s Soul / She Waits, She Loves, She Cares” (no label) EX £250 Strong ‘70s funk from Indiana with killer horns that give it a lush feel reminiscent of Deep Heat’s “Do It Again”. The group ballad on the flip is also gorgeous (that side is VG because of a scratch causing a few light tics right at the start). Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/devilsworkshop_satan.mp3 #2: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/devilsworkshop_shewaits.mp3 Michael Smith “A Love That’s Heavenly Inspired” (Pharoah) M- £200 Lovely modern dancer from Memphis. Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/michaelsmith_alove.mp3 Scacy Sound Service “Sunshine” (Scacy) VG+ £50 ‘70s DC deep funk powerhouse tha’s got everything. Very slight dish not affecting play, clean labels. Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/scacy_sunshine.mp3 Push “You Turn Me On” (Sound Of Seattle) M- £275 Funky modern soul dancer with a big club sound. Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/push_youturn.mp3 Love Symphony Orchestra “Let Me Be Your Fantasy” (Talpro) EX £75 Banging New York disco, totally obscure on 45. Comes in mono / stereo. Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/lovesymphonyorchestra.mp3 The Techniques “Disco Jungle / Brighter Days” (Techniques) strong EX £250 Excellent ‘70s funk from Kentucky. The subtle, moody soul flip is equally great — what a singer. Looks virtually M- with a dish not affecting play (dished in favour of the uptempo side). Listen: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/techniques_jungle.mp3 #2: https://concourserecords.co.uk/musicuploads/techniques_brighterdays.mp3
