Popular Post jocko Posted December 11, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) As the title says, its 50 years today that Sam passed, and he is still for me one of the most important, and one of the true originators, of this music we call Soul. This song for me is in some ways unsurpassable as pointer and a blueprint into the music that was going to change my life. And its something we don't celebrate enough in my opinion, which is what I want this thread to be about only, the celebration of the Soul, Just Soul, in all its glory (where have I heard that before??) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbO2_077ixs&sns=em Sam Cooke with the mighty A Change Is Gonna Come Edited December 11, 2014 by jocko 10

With the Soul Stirrrers, and Touch The Hem of His Garment. Sam Cooke, one of the founding fathers of soul as it became in the 60's. I salute you. 1
Steve S 60 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) Caught some of the show Candi Staton was presenting on Radio 2 on Tuesday night, dedicated to the great man. Must see if I can get it on I-Player. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04t0syd Edited December 11, 2014 by Steve S 60
Soulstu Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 If he had lived imagine the music he would have made in the mid to late 60s!
